Step 1: Cast On

Cast on roughly 70+ stitches. The more stitches you have the wider it will be. I used a relatively small needles (8)

Step 2: Length

Keep knitting like normal until you have the length you want. A measurement I recommend is from the tip of your middle finger to the bottom of your wrist.

Step 3: Forming the Top

Once the hat is the desired length, cut the cord so there is 4 inches left. Then take a tapestry needle and put a string through all the loops. Pull it tight and tie the ends together. Cut the excess string.

Step 4: Details

If your using a striped yarn, turn it inside out to get a better looking hat.

Step 5: Pom Pom

Cut a length of yarn however long you want. The longer it is, the thicker your Pom Pom will be. Wrap it around 2-3 fingers until you reach the desired thickness. Then gently pull it of your fingers and wrap a string around the center. Cut the loops and fluff. Put a string through the middle of it and sew it onto the top of the hat, covering the small hole on top.

Step 6: Done!
