Is it getting cold? Let’s knit home slippers and decorate them with bright summer embroidery.

Footlet slippers knit with needles. It’s very fast and simple work, can be done by an unexperienced knitter. The slippers are decorated with crocheted flowers and fancy wool embroidery. The embroidery is complemented with seed beads.

The size is optional. The below description corresponds to sizes 37-40.

Material: any not delicate yarn, left-overs of wool threads for flowers and embroidery (dark green, bright green, white, pink, lilac), big and small seed beads (white, lilac, transparent).

The slippers are knit with needle sizes 4, 5. The flowers are made with crochet size 1,75.

Step 1: Basic Slippers

Step 2: Slippers – Assembling

«Toe-caps»

Tow the thread through the loops of the last row (pic 2). Tighten the thread (pic 3), fix it. Seam the ribbing part and some 8 rows more (pic 4-5).

«Heel»

Tow the thread through the middle part (A) and tighten it (pic 6-7). Seam adjoint B parts (pic 8).

Step 3: Decoration

Crochet

«Lilac flower»

Crochet any number of lilac flowers from threads of different colours. Make a half crochet ring of 4 chain stitches. From this stitch crochet next 4 chain stitches and join into a half crochet ring (lead the crochet into the first stitch of the chain). In this way make 4 petals. In the end join the fourth and the first petals with connecting crochet.

«Green leaf»

Crochet a chain of 5 chain stitches. Then crochet on this chain circle-wise: half crochet, single crochet, double crochet, into the next stitch (edge of the chain):* treble crochet, double crochet, single crochet, half crochet, single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet*, then double crochet, single crochet, half crochet.

Stitch nerves on green leaves with contrasting tread. Add stitched 4-petal lilac flowers. Try to assemble them into lilac bunches. Sew on a bead or a seed bead in the centre of each flower. Better to arrange the bigger part of the pattern on the outside part of each slipper.

The left slipper and the right slipper should not have the same pattern. Make them different and peculiar.

Felt insoles might be sewed on the bottom of the slippers to make them warmer and more durable.

Even most practical things can be beautiful!
