When I first set foot in a yarn shop, I felt overwhelmed by the abundance of beautiful yarn. How was I to choose from among the different types of yarn? Wool, cotton, merino... What?
The first part of this video provides you with a few tips to help make your first trip to the yarn shop successful and enjoyable.
Following these tips, I demonstrate to you my favourite method of casting on, or, essentially, putting the yarn on the needles in a practical and esthetically pleasing manner.
And then, I show you how to make a knit stitch, the most basic of stitches, using the Continental method of knitting.
