Introduction: LED Test Tube Vase
materials needed: wood, laser cutter, led lights, hummingbird, dry ice, test tubes
Step 1: Onshape
You will be creating 6 different pieces which you will be printing out later in the project. You will need to build 2 square pieces that are each 4.5 inches long and .75 inches wide, these pieces will also need to be .15 inches thick. The next parts that you will be making will need to be 10 inches long, 4 inches wide, and .15 inches thick. The next piece which you I'll have to make will need to be 10 inches long, 4 inches wide, and .15 inches thick with five holes all 2 inches a part except for the ones on the edges which will be one inch from the edge. The final piece that you will need to be 4 inches wide, 10 inches long, with the five holes which should each be a little wider than the diameter of the test tubes, the final thing you will need to make this piece will be squares that extend out from the circles to the bottom of the piece to create slits for the LED's.
Step 2: Cutting
Once you have made all of you pieces you should use any type of cutting machine. In this we used a laser cutter. You will need to cut you pieces down to the size of all of the onshore pieces that you created.
Step 3: Coding for LED's
Make 5 LED's for the test tubes and have them fit through the holes in the right diameter. They need to be the size of the hole in order to stick the led through. Make 5 flags clicked and have them all on x and have 3 LED's and 2 trinkets and have them all clicked at the same time repeated at once.
Step 4: Gluing
For this step, you can use whatever you want to attach the pieces to each other. The pieces should go in this order from bottom to top: large piece with nothing cut out, large piece with holes and slits for LED's, large piece with five holes, then put on the two small pieces so that bye are facing upwards, then finally place the final large piece with five holes on the top.
Step 5: Putting It All Together
Once you glue has dried you can out the vase together. You should first put the test tubes into the holes in the wood through the top. The you should turn on you coding and put you LED's into the slits in the middle of the wood.finally put your flowers and dry ice into the test tubes and you are done.
