Introduction: Lace Boot Cuffs

Lace Boot Cuffs! The new way to bring a little sexy and sweet into your average boot look! These crazy little cuffs sit right below your knees and snuggle right into your boots! Why spend money on them when you can make them in less than an hour!? Make fit your own personal style!

Step 1: Measure

Correct, no girl likes to take measurements of themselves, but it is of up-most important that you measure the thickest part of your calf and be honest about it! If you normally wear leggings or jeans when you wear boots, take your measurements with your leggings or jeans on.

If you take too small of a measurement, the lace is unforgiving and will not stretch out and go up to your knee where people can see it over your boot. Just remember, if you don't like the number, no one says you have to share and say that you're making the boot cuffs for yourself!

Step 2: Pick Your Lace

Pick a thick lace, 4" thick lace is recommended, for your boot cuffs that fits your every style needs. Add 1-2" to each leg's measurement to account for sewing the lace together to make the cuff. You can find lace at any hobby or sewing store.

Step 3: Fold and Sew

Fold the lace so that the ends of the lace lay on top of each other. Take the ends of the lace and fold them about a quarter of an inch over on top of the lace. Sew your boot cuff together so that the lace does not fray and you make the circle shape of the cuff. Sew two rows straight down the cuff for the best holding results. I used a sewing machine and they went super quick!

If you are wanting to create a laced up boot cuff like the red ones featured, turn the ends of both sides of the lace and sew the ends to the lace. This way the lace will not fray.

Step 4: Add the Bling!

Add your personal style! This is the part that takes the longest, but is the best way to show off who you are! On the two featured cuffs, I used small black lace and brown buttons.

The black lace was weaved though the holes in the thick red lace to make a cute little bow on the top! The red boot cuff was created to match any of my brown boots! Each boot cuff took around fifteen to twenty minutes to lace up.

The brown buttons where simply hand sewed on. They were made to match with any of my brown boots! Each boot cuff took around ten to fifteen minutes to sew the buttons on.

Step 5: Wear and Enjoy!

Test out your new boot cuffs with your boots and take them out on the town!

I have a question. I have several people interested in these if i make them. A couple is out of state if i wanted to make them and surprise them with it would the stretchy lace material work as well? I found a elastic lace material thats pretty thick and sturdy looking and was contimplating on getting that but dont want to waste unnecessary time or money of it wont work.

Hi Linda! Thanks for asking! You slide these right up your legs and then slide the boots up over the boot cuffs. The buttons are just for show
