Introduction: Laptop Stand

I looked all over the internet for plans to build a laptop stand that had a mouse pad. But as hard as I looked I did not find much, so I decided to build one. This simple laptop stand was built in about one hour, and most of the materials were found lying around my house. This is my first instructable so please rate and comment.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

To make this laptop stand you will need:

- A piece of wire shelving that will fit your laptop
- An old mouse pad
- A piece of plastic
- A lighter
- A hack saw
- A piece of cardboard
- A pair of scissors
- A hot glue gun and glue sticks

Step 2: Cut the Shelving

Cut a piece of the wire shelving big enough to fit the laptop. The piece I used was very close to the right size so I did not have to cut it as much as I thought.

Step 3: Cut, Bend, and Glue the Plastic

Cut four strips of plastic and cut them in half so you have six pieces. Then take those six and CAREFULLY heat the strips with the lighter and bend them at right angles. And then using the glue gun, glue the right angled pieces to the wire shelving so that they point inward.

Step 4: The Mouse Pad

Cut a piece of card board as wide as the distance between the plastic pieces. Then cut a piece of the mouse pad as wide as the cardboard piece, and hot glue the mouse pad onto the piece of cardboard.

Step 5: Done!!!

Well now your done just put the mouse pad in the plastic guides and that's it! Now enjoy your new laptop stand!!!
