Introduction: Large Heart Backdrop
I made this heart for my niece's wedding. Great backdrop for any party or photo backdrop.
Step 1: What You Will Need
You need cardboard the size you want your heart to be. I wanted a huge heart so I used 3 to 4 large moving boxes.
Packing tape
Scissors or box cutter.
You can use either double sided tape, school glue, or a glue gun.
You will also need a 4 x 4 or 6x6 square ruler. Tissue paper ( I used about 24 pkgs)
$.99 each.
36" wooden dowel 5/16. I used two because of the size of my heart. You can purchase at a craft store.
Step 2:
Tape and cut the boxes to make a heart shape.
Step 3:
Cut the tissue paper into the 4x4 or 6x6 squares. You will need a lot of them. Place thumb in the middle of the paper and push down.
Step 4:
Place the double sided tape on the board then place tissue paper on the double sided tape. If your tape doesn't stay use glue or a glue gun to attach the tissue paper. It's best to start in the middle and work your way out. Cover the board completely.
Step 5:
I actually cut out 2 heart boards. The other board I covered with a black & white decorative wrapping paper.
I used poster printing from my computer to print out their names. I used red ribbon around the names.
Step 6:
I used 2 36" 5/16 wooden dowels and glued them in between the boards to make sure the heart wouldn't bend over. I hot glued the boards together.
You may be able to place a stake at the bottom of the heart before you glue the two heart boards together to stick the heart in the ground. Since my heart was standing up against something I didn't need to do that.
Step 7: Make Your Heart Any Size
You can make your heart any size. I also made a smaller one for a photo booth prop. I just hot glued a dowel onto the back of the heart
