Introduction: Laser Cut Acrylic Wall Décor

About: Hi. My name is Adelle and I work for Trotec Laser, Inc. In my spare time I enjoy sharing projects for people to use on their lasers.

Step 1: Design

Print Settings*

  • Process Mode: Standard
  • Resolution: 500 dpi
  • Cut Line: None
  • Halftone: Ordered Dithering
  • Others: Optimized geometries, inner geometries first

Step 2: Laser Cutting

Place the first TroGlass sheet that you wish to process on the acrylic cutting grid table. Next, adjust the laser processing parameters.
Proceed to laser cut the sheet. Repeat this process for the other two TroGlass sheets.

Laser Parameters

  • Power (%): 100.00
  • Speed (%): 1.00, 2.00
  • ppi/Hz: 5000 Hz
  • Passes: 1
  • Air Assist: On
  • Z-Offset: n/a
  • Direction: n/a
  • Advance: n/a

Our suggested parameters may vary depending on the laser machine used and the available laser power.

Step 3: Assembly

Use the square TroGlass lettering cutout to mark where to drill holes in your wall. Next, use an electric drill or screwdriver to drill the mounting screws (in the standoff kit) into the marked spots.
Once the holes are drilled, mount the standoffs. Hang the square cutout and then the lettering cutouts on the standoffs. Finally, secure the acrylic lettering to the standoffs with an Allen key. It's as easy as that!

Experiment with different sizes, fonts, and Trotec materials. The possibilities are limitless!
