I saw a laundry basket organizer on Etsy, it was made out of wood. The unit was over $200. Since I was looking for a temporary solution to fix a problem we decided to use PVC.

Materials
(4) 1” x 10’ 450 Schedule 40 PVC Pipe
(3) Laundry Baskets 1.7 Bu./ 60 L, Length: 26.0 Width: 18.38 Height: 12.5
(12) 1" PVC Tee Fitting
(8) 1" 3-Way PVC Elbow Fitting
(4) 1" 4-Way PVC Tee Fitting
(3) 1" PVC Cross Fitting Connector

Tools needed
PVC Cutting Tool
Rubber Mallet
Tape Measure
Crayon or Marker

Step 1: Measure and Cut PVC

If you are using smaller or larger baskets, you will need to adjust your measurements. Our measurements were so that the holder would fit in a certain area and be large enough to hold the laundry baskets we choose. We used a crayon and marker to mark the PVC and lined up the marks with the PVC cutting tool. (4) 1” x 10’ PVC Pipe cut to:
(8) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 15”
(18) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 6”
(18) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 12.5”

Step 2: Assemble Bottom & Top Layer

For each Layer you will need:
(4) 1" 3-Way PVC Elbow Fitting
(4) 1" PVC Tee Fitting
(1) 1" PVC Cross Fitting Connector
(6) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 6”
(6) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 12.5”

Connect the PVC pipes and Fittings. See photo for correct orientation of Fittings and location of PVC pipe sizes.

Step 3: Assemble Middle Layer

You will need:
(4) 1" 4-Way PVC Tee Fitting
(4) 1" PVC Tee Fitting
(1) 1" PVC Cross Fitting Connector
(6) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 6”
(6) 1” PVC Pipe cut to 12.5”

Connect the PVC pipes and Fittings. See photo for correct orientation of Fittings and location of PVC pipe sizes.

Step 4: Build the Unit

Attach (4) 15” PVC Pipe to top of the 3-Way PVC Elbow Fitting on the bottom layer (see photo)

Step 5: Build the Unit

Place the Middle layer on top of the (4) 15” PVC Pipes from the Bottom layer. (see photo)

Attach (4) 15” PVC Pipe to top of the 4-Way PVC TEE Fittings on the Middle layer. (see photo)

Place the Top Layer on top of the (4) 15” PVC Pipes from the Middle layer.

Step 6: Secure Fittings

Using the rubber Mallet, Tap each of the Fittings against the floor.

Step 8: Add Back Support

Our unit is wedged in between two units and a wall but if yours will be more open you may want to add back support. All you need to do is change out some of the fittings and add support poles.
