Introduction: Lego Bird Feeder

About: Hi my name is Muchen and I'm a student at Imperial College.

Lego can be made into lots of things..cars, planes, ships, AND BIRD FEEDERS!
And I am going to show you how to build one now!
PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ALL THE PARTS ARE CALLED, SO WHEN I SAY IT'S 6X2 FOR EXAMPLE. I MEAN THAT IT HAVE 6 CIRCLES ON ITS LENGTH AND 2 CIRCLES ON IT'S WIDTH. Get that? Then lets begin!

Step 1: You Will Need:

A lot of lego!
String if you want to hang yours.

Step 2: Step 1

Find three 10x2 flat pieces, then line them up together

Step 3: Step 2

Use another flat lego piece to clip them together.

Step 4: Step 3

Put a 4x2 flat piece onto the edge, then put another 8x6 piece under it.

Step 5: Step 4

Put a 4x4 piece beside the green 4x2 piece. then put a  4x1 beam at the edge. This makes a slight slope.

Step 6: Step 5

Put 2 16x1 beams onto the sides, then put 2 6x1 beams beside that for support.

Step 7: Step 6

Put one of these "Fence" lego pieces on, if you don't have them, you an use these lego windows. Anything with small holes will do.

Step 8: Step 7

Build up the layers until it's 4 layers thick. make sure you leave a 4x1 space in the inside.

Step 9: Step 8

Put blocks on the back to make steps, one higher than the other.

Step 10: Step 9

Find 3 Slope pieces and put them on the step blocks.

Step 11: Step 10

Make a place where the bird can stand. Use a 6x4 flat piece as the base, then put a 8x2 under it. And also a 4x2 piece on top of the 6x4 piece. Then put a mini lego case on it. If you don't have one, stick an upside down slope piece onto it.

Step 12: Step 11

Clip that whole thing onto the base of the bird feeder. The mini lego case will hold seeds that fall out of the fence.

Step 13: Step 12

IGNORE THIS STEP IF YOU DECIDE TO HANG YOURS!
Get a 8x1 lego slope, then put a 8x2 flat piece under it. Clip that to the base of the bird feeder as well. This is to keep the bird feeder balanced. IGNROE THIS STEP IF YOU DECIDE TO HANG YOURS!

Step 14: Step 13

Make the lid, just put lots of flat pieces to for the lid. Then get a bigger piece at the end of the bird feeder. This will act as the lid that can easily be opened.

Step 15: Finished!

Now put seeds, corn...food in the bird feeder. The slopes will lead the food down to the fence. Extra food will push through the fence and fall into the lego case, where the bird will feed! You can leave your bird feeder on a flat surface or hang it up!
