Intro: Lego Jeep Created in SolidWorks

SolidWorks is a computer program which allows you to make a 3D creation on your computer, and if you have a 3D printer you can print whatever you made afterwards. In this Instructible I will show you how I took my Lego Jeep and made it in SolidWorks.

STEP 1: Creating the Jeep With Legos

First off I built a World War Two Willy's Jeep out of Lego's. This model is manly based on Brickmania's Lego Jeep model.

STEP 2: Measuring the Pieces

After building the Jeep it was taken apart and each piece was measured thoroughly so the SolidWorks parts would be as close as possible to the real thing.

STEP 3: Creating Parts on SolidWorks

Next I took all the measurements of the parts and created the parts on SolidWorks. This was the most time consuming and difficult task of the whole project.

STEP 4: Assembling the Pieces

After creating the parts in SolidWorks I finished the project by assembling all the pieces together in SolidWorks Assembly area of their program.

STEP 5: Finishing the Project

Now the Jeep is finished both in SolidWorks and in Lego's. I was not able to 3D print mine because I don't have a 3D printer easily accessible. I hope you enjoyed this Instructible!

But you could buy the instructions+like 5 other tank instruction+ Lego tank treads in their track link starter pack
I used instructions from BrickMania to make the Sherman, and I don't think they would want to have me giving away how to make there kits.

Awesome! I prefer Autodesk Inventor. Its what I use in school and am a little more acustomed to,
