Hello there, hope you're doing well.

In today's lesson I we'll be aiming to teach you how to draw a dog's head by using your hand as a template.

This lesson is very easy and you only need 3 tools to complete the task.

The outcome we'll leave you proud of your cute dog drawing.

Supplies

  • Paper
  • Your hand
  • Colour pencils or fibre pens

Step 1: Step 1: Draw Around Your Hand

Place the back of your none writing hand down on the paper, keeping your inner fingers together white spacing out your thumb and pinkie finger.

Then simple trace around your hand.

Step 2: Step 2: Add Details

Make the collar by joining the lines along your wrist.

Next draw a bit of your thumb to make the inner part of the ear.

Repeat on the pinkie finger to make the mouth and tongue.

Add the nose, eyes and teeth to finish the detail.

Step 3: Step 3: Colour Your Dog

You can use pencil colours, fibre pens, markers or even paint. It is fully up to you.

So don't worry if your dog doesn't look very real. It doesn't need to be.

When you finish colouring your hand drawn dog is completed.

If you enjoy this lesson then feel free to show off your own hand drawn dog or check out my other online art lessons.
