Introduction: Let's Have Fun With Paint and Feather

Feather painting ,an unconventional way to use feathers as canvasses. It is creative, fun and decorative to work with feathers. The easy and simple instructions follows on how to make your own feather art.

Step 1: Collection

Collect feathers of your choice .
The size,color and orientation of feathers is solely your choice.

Step 2: Wash Them Clean.

Use luke warm water and detergent to clean the feathers

Step 3: Be Careful!!!

As the feathers are very delicate, you should handle them with care.Best use your fingers to wash them. Move your fingers along the vane of the feather (the part on the hollow shaft) along it's direction.

Step 4: Now Some Hardening.

To use the feathers as canvas, it is easier if the vane is a little hard or stiff so that you can move the brushes easily without tearing it up. So make a dilute solution of water and fevicol (or any other glue which will be transparent on drying)

Step 5: Same Process...

Like while washing now also move your fingers gently along the vane. Don't panic when the feathers seem to shrink when washed, this is the time to give the feather it's shape.

Step 6: Let Them Dry.

After giving the desired shape to the feather according to your need allow them to dry to take those shapes permanently.(if the don't face any other solvents ever again)

Step 7: Clip It Up.

Fasten it up. I have used a sellotape to keep it secure on my palette. Put in your imagination along with the colors on it.

Step 8: And Voila!!!!

Paint whatever and however you like but again carefully remembering it's delicacy.I made a peacock using a 00(double 0) brush and oil paint.I preferred using white because it is complementing to the black color of the feather and also I am fond of it.You are free to choose the color of your creation.

Step 9: Just Comparing the Size of the Feather.
