Introduction: Life Sized Dratini
This is a real monster...not a Pocket Monster but a HUGE monster. But it was made with love.
Dratini here is a lifesized completely single-crocheted creation made for my best friend for a holiday present. It took over 3 months off and on to make. Yes entirely single crochet in a tube. then shaped into the proper curves. There is no pattern for this fella, I made it up as I went along. And I never ever want to do something this big again. She took the pictures and posed Dratini for the pictures, aren't they cute?
Stats:
Hook- 3.5mm
Yarn: Super Heart Saver in Light Blue/ White/ Black. Two entire skeins of Blue with only 2 yards left over.
Filling: TWO bags of polifill. Ooh the stuffing...the stuffing!
Time: 3 Months with breaks. Full working time : 72 hours.
Why Dratini? Why not? I wanted to do a Pokemon that could be made in crochet that I hadn't seen before, I've seen mini ones of it but not lifesized. Despite how it hurt my wrists to do, I am 100% proud that I did this, sure he looks a touch drunk but that's character.

Basically this is a long tube shaped to look like Dratini. I started at the tip of the tail and worked up to the crown, then did the details.

Yep, ^^ Very simple but it does take quite a bit of time since the length of it grows faster then you expect.
While I was working on it I had to keep it suspended over a large gift bag, even un-fluffed it was quite heavy.
