Introduction: Light Bulb Chandelier

Use old light bulbs to create a candle chandelier.

Step 1: Tools and Basic Materials

You will need:
Wire Cutters
Needle Nose Pliers
Scribing pen
Wire
Chain (can be from old jewelry)
Decorations (from old jewelry)
Light bulbs
Coat Hanger
Candle wax
Crayons and/or candle dye

Step 2: Breaking the Light Bulb

Use a scribing pen to scratch around the light bulb scoring the glass.
Tap the end of the light bulb off once you have scored all the way around.

Step 3: Melting the Wax

Gather up candles and put them in a jar.
Heat the jar up on the stove on low heat until it is all melted.
While heating up the wax make a funnel out of coffee filtters.
Use about 4 and fold them in half to make a triangle then staple the edges together to form a funnel.

Step 4: Pouring the Wax

Use the funnel to guide the wax into the light bulbs. THIS IS VERY HOT! Use pot holders. Fill the bulbs up to about half an inch to the top.
Let the wax harden for about 1-2 hours.

Step 5: Preparing the Hanger

Untwist a coat hanger and cut off the jagged ends.
Bend it into a circle or any shape desired.
Wrap wire to fasten it into shape.
Use some chain to hang the Hanger from.

Step 6: Harnessing the Bulbs

Start by making a twisted wire loop around the neck of the bulb and then take a 1 1/2 foot long wire and wrap around the loop.
Bend the wire down along the side of the bulb and comp up around the bottom.
Thread the wire along the toop loop and bend the wire down along the side across from the first vertical wire.
At the bottom make sure to criss cross the wires to ensure stability.

Step 7: Hanging the Bulbs

Make a S-chain to attach a chain to the light bulb on both sides.
Once the chain is attached also hang it on the hanger.

Step 8: The Chandelier

Once all the light bulbs are hung at various heights add your own decoration to the classy chandelier.
Light it up and Enjoy!
