Lion Hat

This is a hat I made for a friend who is surely a lion at heart. She loved it, and wears it whenever her brother isn't "borrowing" it, haha.

The had is just a simple bowl hat design, double stranded, and changed one strand of dk brown out for the caramel color for the bottom portion. Crocheted on the earflaps, made stuffed ears, and there is a braided 'tail' starting just behind the mane that goes straight down the back of the hat, ending in the big pom pom. The mane was a chain that fit side to side, then ch 1 turn, and dc all the way back accross. Short bits of both colors of yarn are then threaded through each dc, and the whole strip gets sewn on to the hat.
