Introduction: Love Bracelet

I made a Love Bracelet from left over yarn and plastic band cut from an ice cream bowl. It is something unique that one can make as a gift for a friend. There is no chance of running into someone else wearing the same thing unless your friend has got one design for mass production.

Supplies

Plastic rectangle to fit your wrist (I cut mine from an ice cream bowl)

Cutter

Scissors

Needle

Two colors of yarn (red and purple)

Step 1: Measure

Wrap plastic band around your wrist to make sure it is the right size.

Cut 6 strands of one yarn (red in my case) to a length of 3 times the plastic band.

Make small slits at each end of the plastic band and 4 needle holes at the corners.

Step 2: Insert Yarn and Wrap

Insert the 6 red yarn strands into one of the slits. Align the red strands along the length of the plastic band.

Thread the second yarn (purple) unto the needle and pass through one of the needle holes on the same side as the red yarn. Secure purple yarn with a knot through the second needle hole.

Begin to wrap purple yarn over the plastic band and red yarn.

Step 3: Weaving Love

Wrap purple yarn until you get to the spot you want the word "LOVE" to begin (this should be close to the center of the band).

Holding back the 6 red strands, wrap 3 rounds of purple around plastic band. Then flip the upper 4 red strands forward (while holding the lower 2 strands back) and wrap over the 4 strands / plastic band with purple yarn 5 times.

Flip lower 2 strands forward and wrap over all 6 strands 4 times. Letter "L" done.

To do "O" : flip 6 red strands back, wrap 3 rounds of purple. Flip middle 2 red strands forward, wrap 5 times. Flip 6 red back, wrap 3 times. Flip 6 forward, wrap 4 times.

To do "V": flip upper 2 back, middle 2 and lower2 forward, wrap 3 times .

Flip upper 2 and lower 2 forward, flip middle 2 back , wrap 3 times.

Flip Upper 2 and middle 2 forward, flip lower 2 backwards, wrap 3 times.

Flip upper 2 and lower 2 forward, flip middle 2 back , wrap 3 times.

Flip upper 2 back, middle 2 and lower 2 forward, wrap 3 times

To do "E": flip 6 back, wrap 3 times.

Flip 2nd and 5th strands forward, wrap 3 times.

Flip 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th strands forward, wrap 3 times.

Return all 6 strands forward, continue wrapping with purple yarn until the end of the plastic band.

Step 4: Finishing

Pass red strands into 2nd slit at the other end of the plastic band.

Wrap with purple yarn until the end of the plastic band.

Secure purple yarn in the needle holes at the corners of the band. Knot and trim.

Trim red strands.

Knot the red strands at each end of the plastic band.
