This one is for the naughty kids and adults alike. We always feared getting a lump of coal in our stocking but there is nothing to fear with these delicious treats. What better way to treat someone who might have been a little naughty, with an oreo rice krispie treat. Watch the tutorial to see how to make them and also subscribe to my channel if you'd like. This week will be filled with holiday videos!

Enjoy.

Recipe:3 C rice krispie cereal

20 marshmallows

2 tbsp butter

2-3 oreos

1-2 C black candy melts

Optional: Paper Bag

Step 1: Treats

Either in a double boiler, on the stove, or in a microwave: melt down the marshmallows and butter. Stir until completely smooth and all lumps are gone. Remove from heat and add rice krispie cereal in thirds while stirring to coat with marshmallow. Add in oreo cookie crumbs and continue stirring.

Grease up your hands a bit (I use olive oil) and grab small mounds of the mix to form your charcoal. Each piece should be between 2 and 3 tablespoons. Make sure to squeeze when forming the balls, this ensures that they don't fall apart. The coals shouldn't look like perfect round balls, we want random shapes and sizes.

*Tip. Grease the bowl and utensils that you'll be using.

Step 2: Dipping the Coal On

Once you've finished forming all of your coals pieces. Set them aside on parchment paper or a silicone mat line baking sheet and melt down about a cup of candy melts. I also add Wilton's EZ-Melt to thin it out just a little bit. If you don't have EZ-Melt add a tsp of shortening and stir until dissolved.

Dip the treats into the candy melt, cover completely and tap away the excess by allowing it to drip off. You should be able to see the texture of the treat through the candy melt.

Set onto the prepared sheet tray and allow to harden for at least 20 minutes.

Step 3: You Deserve a Lump of Coal

Your coal pieces will be perfectly naughty when hardened. For presentation, I wrote "coal" and "bag of coal" on a white paper bag and put my pieces in there to display on the coffee table.

I hope you all enjoyed this instructable and have a wonderful holiday!
