Introduction: ☆ MANNEQUIN (head and Shoulders) ☆

you may need a mannequin for an art project or for take photos for the hats or scarfs you sell...
here is how I made mine.

Step 1: WHAT YOU NEED

MATERIALS:
-news paper;
-flour and water;
-cardboard;
-iron wire (thick);
-flat piece of wood;
-paper tape;
-nails.

Step 2: CUT WOOD

measure the perimeter of your trunk and draw it to the piece of wood, than cut it

Step 3: MAKE FRAIM

-cut 4 pieces of wire, long as the length from your chest to your head;
-bend 10 cm on one side of each of them;
-bind them together at the end and on the start of the "L"(place the "L" all perpendiculars);
-nail the iron wire to the base of wood;
-(optional)glue some pieces of concrete (or whatever) to make a weight.

Step 4: START FORMING THE DUMB

roll a piece of cardboard and place it around the frame.
measure your shoulders height and form them with cardboard and balls of newspaper. add tape when needed.
form the head wit more newspaper balls and tape.
in this stage don't pay attention to detail, ONLY TO PROPORTION

Step 5: PAPER MACHE' IT

at this point you need to cover the dumb with paper mache':
-boil some flour and water for few minutes (i did random amounts, but you can find the right amounts and timing online);
-let cool down and pure mix  in a large container, dampen stripes of newspaper in the mixture and stick them to the dumb until is completely cover. allow to dry and add a second layer, this time form face features: nose, eyes, chin... (optional). let completely dry again.

Step 6: PAINT IT

when the dumb is dry paint it (do several coat and allowed to dry between each time): it will give it an hard finish.

Step 7: DONE

you re done (I suggest black, white paint or geometrical pattern  if you use it for accessories photos)
