Introduction: Magazine Cover Notebooks
Take magazine covers and turn them into notebook covers!
Step 1: Materials List
Here's what you will need to transform magazine covers into notebook covers:
- old magazines
- at least 2 to 3 packets of filler paper
- black construction paper
- PH Neutral Adhesive
- sponge brush
- pencil
- scissors or an X-acto knife
- spray adhesive (not shown)
- ruler
- medium sized binder clips
Step 2: Tear Out Magazine Covers
First, choose your favorite magazines and tear out both the front and back covers. Then, glue them to two pieces of white card stock. These will become the front and back covers of your notebook. Place the notebooks underneath some heavy books to smooth out the paper. I find it easier to use some spray adhesive to attach the magazine covers to the card stock.
Step 3: Put the Paper in Place
Open up a packet of filler paper and sandwich it between the magazine covers. Secure with binder clips along the spine to keep in place.
Step 4: Make the Binding
Now, for the binding, measure and cut a piece of black construction paper to about an 1 x the determined length of your notebook. My paper measures 10.5 inches.
Step 5: Assemble the Notebook
Now, brush on a layer of adhesive and place the black paper over the filler paper and magazine covers. Then, secure again with binder clips to keep in place, and let dry completely.
Step 6: Write On!
Once the glue has dried, take off the binder clips, and your notebooks are ready to write in! Great for gifts and for back to school, these notebooks go way beyond your average magazine!

What a creative idea! Will the pages pull out easily so you can use the paper for homework? My teen daughter would love to be able to use something like this for classroom assignments.

You can! Just carefully tear out the paper along the spine.
