Magic Sand - Sand That Wont Get Wet!!!

Introduction: Magic Sand - Sand That Wont Get Wet!!!

Magic Sand - It Simply Will Not Get Wet!!!

I will teach you to make special sand that does not get wet!!
You can use it so when you ask a spectaor to name a color of sand after you have mixed it in with water!
You pull out there color and its dry!!

Magic Sand begins as normal looking sand, until it's dyed and coated with a substance that repels water.
This coating keeps the sand dry even after it has been dumped into a container of water.
Build castles and other structures under the water, then simply pour the water off when you're finished and the sand is still dry!
You can use it for fun science experiments again and again!

Materials
  • Building Sand / Sandpit Sand
  • Baking Tray
  • Scotch Guard
  • Tin Foil

I have tried to make this magic sand, and it almost works. I did all the steps, right the way you asked. It gets clotted when I put the sand in the water, but when I want to pick it out, it's wet after all. I have sprayed enough waterproof spray on the sand. I just don't get it why it doesn't work. Could anybody help me?

We have some of this at the vet's office where I work for collecting urine samples from cats as it will cause the urine to pool on top of the sand in the litter-box
