Introduction: Magnetic Offset or Overlapping Hinge Joint Design

About: I am an American teaching English at Shangluo University, Shaanxi. I like making machines that do interesting but fairly useless things - I call them Quixotic Machines.

This is a design for a special hinge that I need for some projects I have in mind. It allows two or more panels to be joined together in a stronger than normal hinge configuration and using one or magnets to lock the panels in position.
