Mail Box
Intro: Mail Box
for my genius project i decided to make a mailbox with the correct US mail regulations. We were in need of a new mailbox so this worked out just perfectly.
STEP 1: Measuring Out the Lines for a Regulated Size Mailbox Post
you need to have the mailbox within 41-45 inches from the road surface. they also have to be set back 6-8 inches away from the curb. we also used another post that the actual mailbox sits on that is perpendicular to the post that goes into the ground. And we used a small plank of wood to put in the bottom of the mailbox that we secured to the perpendicular post.
STEP 2: Cutting the Wood
we used a circular saw that had a laser guide for precise cuts
STEP 3: Connecting the Two Posts
we cut rectangles into both posts and used wood glue to glue them together then put a screw through it to make sure the glue sticks properly.
STEP 4: Add the Mailbox to the Top
then i attached the mailbox to the top of the perpendicular post to make finish off the mailbox.

Nice and simple. If I ever had to replace my mailbox post, this is how I'll do it. Thank you!
