Introduction: Make a Shooting Board.
I normally like to add some photos but this is such a quick and easy workshop appliance to make I decided to go straight to a video. This is an end grain shooting board used to trim items in their length accurately with a handplane. Hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to check in on my blog and you tube channel

Hello Broken Board. daliad has nailed it. Really, just make a shooting board, set the plane real fine and go to it. It'll work grea!

If you look at the bottom of your standard bench plane the mouth (hole) does is not the full width of the sole (plane base). It will initially plane the base board, leaving a small rabbet on the edge, but stop cutting when the sole of the plane hits the edge.
