Introduction: Make Your Own Kahlua!
Everybody likes Kahlua, but who wants to pay for high fructose corn syrup and cheap rum? I decided to make my own version using simple ingredients. The result was a successful copy of Kahlua, that even the biggest Kahlua fans couldn't tell the difference.
Step 1: The Ingredients
You will need:
- 1 Cup of coffee
- 1 Tbls pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 Cup of organic maple syrup
- 1/4 Cup of organic agave nectar
- 1 1/2 Cups of rum
- Empty bottle
- Measuring cup
- Funnel (optional)
Step 2: Making the Kahlua
Mix all of the ingredients into the empty bottle, the order doesn't really matter.
Once all of the ingredients are in the bottle, shake well to ensure that it is mixed completely.
Step 3: You Did It!
Enjoy your new beverage with ice cream or what have you.

How much did this end up costing in comparison to buying the real stuff? And do you have any Rum Chatta recipes? (the closest (and best imho) is to just eat a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch with milk, but that is a virgin rum chatta :P lol)

it ended up costing $15 total, and we still have enough ingredients to make a second bottle.
