Introduction: Make Your Own Mummy Hand

YOU WILL NEED

  • Wire (any bendable wire will work)
    Masking Tape
    Packing Foam
    Gauze
    Glue

LETS GET STARTED

STEPS

  1. Loop some wire together in the shape of a figure 8, to start forming a finger and use some masking tape in the middle to keep the wires in place.

  2. Repeat the process to make five (5) fingers. The size depends on the look you are going for.

  3. Group all five fingers in the shape of a hand. The excess wires of the bottom of each finger (figure 8) gather together for the palm area. Then wrap with masking tape.

  4. Start building the shape and thickness of each finger and palm with strips of packing form. Use as much as you need to get the look you want and tape together with masking tape.

  5. Now for the gauze. Have a bowl or something that you can set the hand on during this process. It will get a little messy. I also used a bamboo skewer stuck in the back of the palm to help hold the hand when wrapping it. Cut strips of gauze and dip the strips into a separate bowl of a mixture of glue and water. Wrap the strips around the hand until you have completely covered all the areas. Set the hand aside to dry.

  6. Once it has completely dried its ready to use. Dress it up with some paint or a clear coat of sealant spray to protect it.
