Introduction: Make a Slim Leather Wallet
This design is not original, I saw from Internet and impressed by it's unique & slim design, and decide to make similar one.
The inner pocket holds up to 6 credit cards, front pocket for cash.
Step 1: Tools & Materials
To get start, you need to prepare some tools and materials.
- A piece of leather
- Scissor
- Cutter
- Ruler
- Hammer
- Chisel
- Wing divider
- Glue
- Needle x 2
- Sew thread
- Sandpaper
- Sewing horse (optional)
Step 2: Cutting
I made a cardboard template, put it on leather and mark the cut line with a needle or awl whatever you have, then cut it out.
Step 3: Glueing
There are 3 sides need to be glued: first glue the inner pocket part, when it dry glue the out part, put a hammer on it to keep the shape and wait it dry.
Step 4: Burnishing Edge and Punching Holes
Not all leathers need to burnish edges, anyway a smooth and burnished edge make the leather work nice-looking and durable.
Here I use sandpaper (1000) & beeswax.
Use wing divider to make a punching line, usual 4mm from the edge.
Punch holes with a chisel.
Step 5: Sewing
You may need a sewing horse when sewing.
You can check below instructable to know how to sew a leather.

Step 6: Done
I forgot to cut the pocket corn, you can also leave this to the last step, cut or keep it.
Ok, insert several credit cards & little cash in it and slip into your front pocket. If possible, throw your old & thick wallet.

Step 7: Template
I am not good at designing, it's little difficult for me making a professional template.
I did it with Excel and convert to PDF, if directly print not work, please make one according to the measurements.
Any comments will be much appreciated.

The instructions don't provide any of the template measurements or dimensions needed to instruct someone on how to do it though...

Shouldn't be too difficult to extrapolate the pattern size from a credit card. The wide bit folds around one so needs to be twice the width + the seam allowance by the length. The smaller bit with the corner cut off folds up to close the bottom so is the same size as the folded main section. Try it in something like kitchen paper first - strong but soft enough to wrap around.

I like this design, since it requires only one piece of material and has few edges to sew. I think I'll try this out, thanks for sharing!
