Intro: Make an Amazing MIDI Controller

** The hardware, coding, manufacturing, and price made this Instructable made it inaccessible to others, especially those just getting started with electronics. I rethought the design and created an updated document here.**

I am looking to have a very complex midi controller built. I am looking
to emulate the mixing console in propellerhead reason 8. Here is an

It
would have to have 24 channels, each with a motorized fader (which ,
about 30 knobs each, and about 25 buttons each. basically laid out
similar to the board, doesn't have to be exact, close enough is fine.

becides
the channels it would need the master section to the right, which would
have a master fader, about 30 knobs and about 35 buttons.

Please
point me in the right direction, I could never build one of these
myself, but understand the process to know that it wouldnt be incredibly
hard for someone to do (well I am unsure about motorized faders, but
everything becides that should be able to be done)

can you give me the code and schematic? I don't have teensy, but I have arduino and a bunch of exotic stuff that suit this

wow. love this one man. what are those vu meters? how are you driving them?
they displayed the sum of low/mid/high
...just for aesthetic purposes
Hey! Such a great work and project!

I'm not a beginner with electronic stuff and I'm really interested to take a look of your hardware/firmware to make my own...maybe not with Arduino, with other MCU.
Can you send me the whole project?

Thx and nice work again
hey did u ade this track by ur own??
Hy FUzzy WOBBLE. i like the stuffs u made. i like it. even that i will try this circuit.. later. cuz i like the midi controllers. it will help me in making some cool songs.
but i also need suggestions from u that now im pursuing the B.Tech in Electronics and communications. suggest me what should i do after it?/
U own a Kp3.....Lucky. I have the Kaossilator pro, but the programs are not expandable in any way.
Turns out im already subbed! Really looking forwrd to this project
check fuzzywobble.com in about two months.
dude please post some more info on this over the internet! It looks sooo good and I really want to build one - even just basic info and components, for example, did you use an arduino?
MK2 in the works. Trust me, your gonna wanna wait for MK2. I am planning to launch a kickstarter(.com) campaign with the new design. MK2 will be modular, cheaper, and most importantly, much easier to build and program. I can't start the build until I move to NYC, which is in two weeks.

The kickstarter campaign will allow you to order all your components and laser cut parts directly from me. There will be no generic design. Each supporter will have the freedom to design his/her own layout following my general (and very well constructed) framework.

This design used Arduino, however, MK2 will use either Teensy or Andweeny.

Wow this sounds so fantastic! I was going to build a midifighter type controller but that seems so daft compared what it sounds like you've got coming! Im subscribing :)
make an instructable!
this controller turned out to be rather complicated and not all that suited for an instructabe. i am currently working on a more basic and user-friendly build. details will be posted on http://fuzzywobble.com over the next few months.
ah okies thank you!
Where did the instructions go? I came back to your instuctable looking for some component names, but I see you have removed all of the steps except this first one. I know your tutorial is under construction, by why did you remove everything that you already had written?
Excellent work. The construction and overall finish look great and very professional. It certainly looks more than the $335 component cost!

Thanks for the numerous component links. I know very from experience it can be very time consuming to track down just the right knob or fader, so this is a great tim saver.

Hopefully my next MIDI controller looks just as good as this :)
