Intro: Make Your Own Dried Apple Bits

Dried apple bits are good in snack mixes or for making apple-cinnamon oatmeal. All you need is an apple and some time!

STEP 1: Peel and Chop

Peel an apple, then chop it into small chunks.

STEP 2: Bake

Spread the chopped apple pieces on a cookie sheet.

Set your oven to the lowest temperature setting (about 150 degrees F) and bake for at least one or two hours.

STEP 3: Cool and Store

Let your dried apple bits cool and store them in an airtight container. Enjoy!

I wonder if it would make a difference were I to add cinnamon and sugar before putting them into the oven? Any thoughts on that?

I was thinking the same , it would be a bit like the outside of a churro with apple , so sweet Apple , thx hoped that helped
Do you know how long these will last after you make them?
can you put it in a hier temperatuer
wow cool. Couldn't you do this with other fruit? Like, make raisens, banana chips, strawberry mush :P
Also good for inclusion in homemade trail mix! A dehydrator will give you extra shelf space, but if you live in a warm/dry area you can just put your apple on a screen in a sunny spot.
Did you read the first sentence? "...are good in snack mixes..."
Oops. Apparently not.
