Makeup Bag With Zipper

Every lady needs a cute makeup bag. This project can be made in about an hour. Use it to hold your lipstick, powder, mascara, etc... 

Step 1: Supplies

Fabric, (Approximately 9" x 15") matching thread, scissors, straight pins, sewing machine with a zipper foot attachment, 7" zipper, measuring tape.

Step 2: Cut Fabric

Cut the fabric into 3 pieces. 9" x 3", 9" x 5" and 9" x 7".

Step 3: Sew Fabric to Zipper

Fold the 3" x 9" piece in half, lengthwise. Pin the folded edge to one side of the zipper. Fold the 7" x 9" piece in half lengthwise and pin it to the other side of the zipper. Using the sewing machine with a zipper foot, stitch both sides of the zipper.

Step 4: Side Seams

Place the regular presser foot back on the sewing machine. Unzip the zipper and pin the front of the make up bag to the 5" x 9" piece of fabric, right sides together. Sew around all 4 sides. Zig-Zag around all 4 sides to prevent the edges from fraying. Turn right side out. Press.

Step 5: Finished Make Up Bag

Now, wasn't that easy? You can make several in different sizes for jewelry or other items.
