Introduction: Making a Magic Wand

Making an ironwood wand. Ironwood is extremely hard type of wood. It is normally heavy, oily and due to the high silica content quite rough on the tools. All that being said, if you take your time and work hard to get it all polished up it is a beautiful looking wood. This wand is laminated with a 1/4 piece of oak and finished with a coat of wipe on poly.

Also, 'iron' woods are the only woods that are heavy enough to sink in water.
