Making Kokumaro Curry

Introduction: Making Kokumaro Curry

Ingredients list

1. One box of Kokumaro curry 8 Servings(but for this recipe, we will only use four servings)

2. 3 ounces of pork (you can also use skinless chicken breast or chuck steak)

3. Two medium-sized carrots

4. One medium-sized white or yellow onion

5. 1-2 Russet Potatoes

6. Two tablespoons of olive oil (you can also use vegetable oil)

7. Two and a half cups of water

8. Two cloves of Garlick finely chopped(optional)

9. 1-3 teaspoons of soy sauce depending on your taste (optional) If you don’t wish to use soy sauce, you can use Salt instead

10. Half a teaspoon of onion powder (optional)

11. A pinch of Black pepper (optional)

12. A bowl of cold water (optional)

Cooking ware needed

1. An iron pot with a lid

2. A fine mesh strainer spoon (optional)

3. A ladle or something to stir the mixture with

4. A knife

5. A regular bowl

6. A cutting board

7. A stove

8. A spoon

9. A potato peeler

Step 1:

The first step is to clean and disinfect all of your vegetables and cooking ware

Step 2:

The First Step of this recipe is to cut the vegetables. Start by cutting the onion vertically down the center. Next, you need to place the onion flat on the cutting board and cut the roots out by creating a V shape with the knife. After that is complete, cut the onion into wedges and set them aside.

Step 3:

Moving on to the next step, you will need to peel the potatoes carefully. After they have been peeled, slice them down the middle vertically until you have 2-4 lengthy pieces; next, cut each piece into cubes. After you cut the potatoes, you must place them in a bowl with cold water so that they do not turn brown.

Step 4:

Now it is time to peel your carrots. Once they have been peeled, you need to slice them from the top down the center. After that has been done, you now need to cut the two carrots into bite-sized triangles and set them aside for now.

Step 5:

Step 6:

The next step is to place your pot on the stove and set the temperature to medium. Now add your olive oil and ingredients and saute them until the onions softened and the meat cooks. Make sure that you stir frequently.

Step 7:

Now that your meat and vegetables have cooked, you can now add the water. Cover with the top and leave it to boil. Once the dish simmers, use the fine mesh strainer spoon to skim off the excess foam at the top. Once the vegetables have softened, lower the heat, cover the pot with a lid and let simmer for 16 minutes. Next, add your spices and soy sauce to suit your taste. My recommendation is to stop adding spices once you can taste a mild savory flavor.

Step 8:

Lastly, turn off the heat and break up your Kokumaro curry. Roux and add them to the stew. Gently stir and let the curry dissolve into the mixture. Once it has fully dissolved, turn the heat to low and let simmer while occasionally stirring for 10 minutes. Once the sauce thickens, it is ready to serve. This dish will feed four people.
