Making a 1:1 Scale Cardboard Guitar Model

So here I will show you how to make a 1:1 scale guitar model, it does not play it is just for fun or if you make it well enough it can be a decoration. Though you could apply what i said in my first intractable and use that information here. So here i will be making an Explorer guitar ( based off my gibson ) I will have a paper template that i made ( not very well made ) but it tells where to put pickups and stuff.

Step 1: So We Start....

Getting a box together and making the template and putting up basic guides.
So we draw out the template of the guitar and cut it out, make sure to make two copies of the guitar, the two copies will serve as a back and front part.
Then draw out a pickguard and the areas where you want the pickups,bridge and control knobs

Step 2: Cutting Out the Sides and Gathering Materials

You will need
cardboard
bottle caps ( you can use something else of similar size or just draw something of similar size on )
a Q tip ( you can also use something else here, but it must be at least a 1/2 inch long )
paper or pickup covers or pickups
either very thick cylindrical wood ( 1/2 diameter ) or 2 dead AA batteries ( you can use AA batteries that aren't dead also ) 

steps

1.Plot out where the knobs will go
2. Plot out pickups
3. put the bridge 1/2 - 1 inch away from the bridge pickup ( 4-5 inches away from the neck )
Plot out where the pickup selector will go ( the q tip will serve as a pickup selector )

Step 3: Painting Knobs and Putting the Side on the Guitar

So now we line the guitar with 1 1/4 inch thick cardboard, and paint the knobs, bridge ( batteries ) and the Q tip
this will make it look nice
 and we will also put the back of the guitar ( copy of the guitar template ) on also
USE A HOT GLUE GUN!

Step 4: Lining the Side

Do what the title says use cardboard that is 1 1/4 inch thick and glue it around the guitar Make sure the cardboard edges are even

Step 5: Making the Neck and Headstock

Make a long pice of cardboard about 18 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide THIS IS NOT THE NECK THIS IS THE FRET BOARD
 the neck is 15 inches long and make that about 1 3/4 inches wide or so and connect the neck to the body

Step 6: Misc Stuff and Your Done!

So add what you want, some decals, paint, other hardware such as strap buttons input jack

Step 7: Comparison to Real Gibson

So here is a real gibson next to this one

Good luck! I would recommend putting a metal rod (not a real truss rod) in the neck to support the neck and a metal rod in the body to support it and a wood block where the bridge would go. Ill make another instructable soon explaining what I'm trying to say.
