Introduction: Making a Cool Spray Paint Poster With Your Name or Initials
I love making cool artwork and crafts whenever I have the right supplies. The other day I was walking through my kitchen and I saw some bottles of spray paint on the counter. I've seen some really cool pictures of what people can do with spray paint so I thought I would give it a try. This project is great for kids to do too! :)
Supplies
Spray paint (at least two colors of your choice)
Large cardboard box (optional) (newspaper works too)
Blank poster board
Step 1: Set Up
It is preferable to do this project outside if you are able because it uses spray paint. To set up, all you need to do is cut your cardboard in half and lay it on a flat surface. If you are not able to use cardboard then newspaper also works. Set your black poster board on top of the cardboard with extra space on the sides. Get your spray paint ready. You're ready to go!
Step 2: Background
To make a cool base you first put down your main color. If you get close up you'll get a more solid background. If you get farther back you'll get more white in your background.
Step 3: Pattern
Next you'll make you pattern. If you want dots you'll spray close up until the circle gets to the size you want. You can also make the paint drip. If you put a little bit more paint than you need then pick up the poster and shake it a little bit till the paint starts to trail then prop it up on something till it drips all the way down. You can do dots, circles, stripes. It doesn't matter what you do. I like to go crazy and do all of them. :)
Step 4: Put on Your Name or Initials
You can do cursive or print for your name just make sure you don't run out of room. For what I did just do print but don't stop spraying. Make the letters connect. If your doing the same color as your background just go slower until its darker than the background.
