To most houses, there is a light post.
but you can't do much about it.
So in this instructables, I am going to show you how to beautify your light post along with your garden.
Then, it is up to you to display your favorite hanging plant, bird feeder or patio accent.

Step 1: Step 1- Locate the Rod on Your Light Post
most of the light post has this rod hanging out.
in this instructable, i am measuring the rod with 0.75" diameter.

Step 2: Step 2- the Hard Part
Because it is hard to do, but I don't want to make it a CAD lesson.
Therefore, I am nice enough to do it for you!
I uploaded a set of 3D files format (stl, iges, x_t) for your convenience. I even put in the native solidworks file in here. so you can change the design anyway you want (if you have solidworks)
No solidworks? No problem. there free alternatives (123D or SketchUp) will get you started. and learn there software here
since you have all the files you have, it will be a piece of cake!!!!

you can either win the make it real contest and use that 3D printer. haha, but please let me win, so i can print it for my neighbors.

NOTE: the wall thickness of the hanger is about 0.125". Don't make it too thin!!!! so far my plants survive 2 thunderstorms. so the thickness I have there is about right.my hanging plants is around 15lbs
