Intro: Map Microsoft Onedrive As Letter Drive on Computer

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to MAP your

Microsoft ONEDRIVE as a lettered drive on your computer.

I have also made a video of this that you can watch for a step by step tutorial!

STEP 1: Getting to It! Get Your Onedrive Info

In order to do this you need to know your ONDRIVE CID

number. In order to find this go to “OneDrive.Live”.

You will then need to log in.

Once logged in you will need to navigate over to the left side and right click the “Files” under the search box. Select “Copy Link Address” and this will copy the address of your one drive to your clip bored. I suggest open up a new tab in your browser and paste your clipboard but don’t hit enter yet (This is so you can get what you need from that link).

STEP 2: Putting It Together

Now open up “File Explorer” on your computer and select “Map network drive” at the top. Now in that dialog box that popped up select what letter you want the drive to have and then go down the folder box and type in “https://d.docs.live.net/” now go to your browser and copy the “CID” number from what you pasted, it should be the last chunk of stuff in this format #cid= and you want the stuff that follows the “#cid=”.

Now put that chunk of digits after the slash in the folder box so it should now look like this “https://d.docs.live.net/cidnumber” where the “cidnumber” is your CID number. Now make sure the “Connect using different credentials” is checked and click finished. Enter your onedrive username and password in the box that pops up and you’re done. Now your onedrive is now a lettered drive on your computer!

I had to re do this to my one drive awhile ago. All is working well now. I also had to re Install my one drive when it stopped syncing correctly on my computer a few weeks ago (on my laptop. I use this on my desktop)

Is this still working for everyone? I followed these steps and it was working for a while, but stopped working a few days ago.

Two steps. This was so easy. Thanks so much for the info. - Great job in sharing

Nice article. Very comprehensive. Another way to do this is with a commercial product called WebDrive. You can create persistent drive letters that are mapped automatically when you log in to Windows. Maps drives to other cloud services and corporate servers too. www.webdrive.com

thank you this will make the use of one drive so much simpler
