Introduction: Marbled Triple Choc-Chip Cookies
Think you know cookies? Think again! These marbled cookies contain three whole blocks of chocolate, one milk, one dark and one white. Make them small or big, either way the melting chocolate chunks and crisp caramelized edges will make your mouth water.
Step 1: Ingredients and Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Self-raising flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups of Plain flour
- 2/3 Brown sugar
- 2/3 cup of Caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons of Vanilla essence
- 2x tablespoons of Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 cup of dark Coco powder
- 180gm Butter
- 200g block of Milk, Dark and White
Equipment
- Electric mixer
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- 2x Mixing bowl
- Mixing Spatula
- Cooling racks
- Chopping board and knife
- Baking tray and baking paper
Step 2: Pre-heat Your Oven!
BEFORE we start making pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Step 3: Start Mixing!
Making the basic dough
The dough for these delicious cookies is quick and easy to make
- Combine the butter and sugars in a bowl and mix until smooth and light
- Beat in the two eggs until well combined
- Sift in both flours a bit at a time and mix thoroughly
- Finally add the 2 tablespoons of milk and mix
Step 4: Dividing the Dough
To create the marbled effect we now need to divide the dough in two and mix in the coco powder to half the mixture, making sure it is well combined.
Step 5: Chop the Chocolate!
Yes we will be needing three whole blocks!
Cut the blocks of chocolate up to about the size of half a square.
Make sure you keep the three different types of chocolate separate at this point!!!
Step 6: Add the Chocolate!
Mix the dark and milk chocolate into the dough without the coco powder and the white chocolate into the dough with the coco powder.
Step 7: Combine the Doughs
GENTLY fold the two types of dough together this will create the marbled effect. It is important that you don't over-mix or you won't get a defined marble.
Step 8: Baking!
You can make your cookies any size you want, I find that these cookies look their best big!
Lay the cookie on a tray covered in baking paper and put them in your pre-heated oven.
Depending on their size they will take about 10 - 15 minutes to cook.
Step 9: Cooling
When they are removed from the oven they will be soft to the touch, this is ok, they harden when they cool!
Leave them on the baking tray for a moment to cool a bit before transferring them to a cooling rack.
Step 10: Enjoy!
These cookies will easily impress anyone who tries them and are best served with a nice glass of milk!
Thank you for reading and enjoy!
