Mardi Gras Mask

Intro: Mardi Gras Mask

my friend threw a mardi gras party this saturday, complete with beads and king cake. she did, however, ask that people dress up and/or wear masks. since my wardrobe has ended up consisting of, apparently, only greyscale values, i opted for the mask. i started by buying a paper mache form from the art store and cutting it down to something manageable. i then photographed and modeled the results in rhino, adding a “cage” of triangles over one eye, across and under the other. i laid out these triangles in 2d and cut them out of transparencies using my cutter. i assembled the pieces with scotch tape and filled the form with feathers. finally, i glued the shape to the base mask with some sobo and added an elastic band. a large amount of eye makeup and some heels later, i was ready for the party.

Its nice but, Realy nice,,,,,,,,,,, But I am objecting to you that you have to explain the complete work you done on it, Step by Step....... Tc
Wow. That is really impressive looking. I wouldn't have thought of filling a transparent form with a 3D material. The effect is much better than anything you could achieve with a painted or printed pattern, with a better, less structured appearance than just attaching objects directly to the mask.

It makes me wonder what other materials you could fill it with for texture.
