Intro: Mario Quilt Block

This is an instructable about how to make a mario quilt block. Just the block, not an entire quilt. You may change the red squares to green if you want a Luigi block, but that is up to you.

STEP 1: Cutting the Squares

Cut the following amount of 2" squares for each block in your quilt: 46 red squares, 44 yellow squares, 64 squares, and 117 background squares. You dont have to stick with classic colors, you may use substitute them any way you like, try making 4 mario squares, each with different colors for an abstract look.

STEP 2: Sewing

Begin sewing the squares together with a 1/4" seam to make the following single color chains: Red 1 nine piece, 1 five piece, 1 four piece, 1 two piece, 1 eight piece, 1 six piece and 2 three pieces. Brown 6 two pieces, 5 four piece, 5 three pieces, and 2 five pieces. Yellow 5 two pieces, 6 three pieces, 1 four piece and 1 seven piece. Background 3 five pieces, 7 four pieces, 10 three pieces, 1 six piece, and 11 two pieces

STEP 3: More Sewing

Piece the rest together following the pattern in the image.

how about a Mario with the fire flower.
the fire mario would be do-able if you just check out the color scheme from the old super mario bros game. I believe he was white where the red is and red where the brown is (except for the shoes)
OMG THIS JUST GAVE ME AN AWSOME IDEA WILL POST WHEN DONE
