Congratulations on being a finalist in the be prepare contest!
Wow thanks i had no idea !
Really nice work, resourceful and neat, impressive job for only 30 minutes!

Do you have any photos of it lit? I'm picturing a roaring flame, but maybe this is more like a candle?
It lights up a room very well it's not a roaring flame unless you turn it up WAY UP but it will do in an emergency especially with so many lights out from sandy this would work well i hope folks had a chance to build some before sandy hit

And Blessings to all caught in that terrible storm hope everyone is well and safe

I like this idea, its really cool. I have a question though, is it top heavy? I can imagine its pretty stable when full, but how about when there is not a lot of fuel in the base. I think I am going to take this idea and build one myself. Thanks for posting.
Surprisingly no its not top heavy if you use a quart jar or larger I've made one with a pint jar that sits on my kitchen table it's not a sturdy as the larger ones but it still seems sturdy for light use .... I would recommend the larger ones for stability and longer burn times ..

Thanks for the comment and looking
