Intro: Massive Snow Fort With 3 Floors!

This Snow Fort was built this year in Romania. It was built by 2 guys (Me and another guy) We built this in our free periods at school. It took us 18 days of working 2-3 hours a day 5 days a week.

We had abnormal amounts of snow in romania as well as surprisingly low temperatures (-15ªC) We did not manage to finish it as the half term break came and we both went on holiday. In addition, it's getting really warm (-1 to 3ªC) which means we have to wait longer for the blocks to freeze, should we continue this project. The main structure, however, should withstand those temperatures, even when it's got the sun looking down upon it - the superficial ice-layer of the structure just mildly melts and then re-freezes over night.

This Fort has 3 floors and ice windows. Access to the 2nd floor is gained by inside stairs, and you are able to stand up at the very back of the fort. The walls are made of 70-80% ice using a technique we developed this year.

The images show in somewhat of a chronological order, the progression of the build, with the last 2 images showing the current state of the Snow Fort. The second last image shows the interior of the third floor.

The second floor's window has been replaced by a thinner, transparent one as someone broke the first one, and then the one we installed after that.

Amazing!!!!! It's huge!!!!!

Cool!!! I like to build forts with more than one floor. I might use this design to build another fort out of cardboard.

That is amazing!! Unfortunately I think you got all of our snow because we got an uncharacteristically small amount here in Wisconsin :) I'm going to try to make one of these next year if we get more snow!
