Mechanical Wood Toy Using a Laser Cutter.

If you want to be able to create this amazing mechanical wood toy using a laser cutter, here are several easy steps on how to make it:

Step 1: Step 1: Materials

There are three main materials you need to have to proceed with this project. The first one being a working computer. In this specific project I will be using the Macbook Air 13'. Then, you will need the Inkscape software that you can download here https://inkscape.org/en/. And finally, you will need a laser cutter with some wood to print out your design.

Step 2: Step 2: Learning the Program and Designing the Toy

Open Inkscape and started creating the design you desire. I decided to create a torso, two legs and two arms as you can see in the picture above. However, you can create what ever shape you want. Then, I put wholes to connect each piece of the body and continued to print it in the laser cutter.

Step 3: Step 3: Finishing Up the Project

Once the inkscape file has been printed in the laser printer seen above. You will then connect all the pieces with thumbtacks and rope. Then, you are done! Above you can see my final product however, depending of what design you chose to do it will look one way or another!
