Introduction: Mercedes Benz Keyless Go Entry Door Exterior Handle Push Lock Button Square Cover Rubber Plastic Repair Kit Install Instructions
The Problem
It is common for the Keyless Go door handle rubber button to wear spoiling the look of the door handle.
It is very common for the small black rubber Keyless-Go button on these vehicles door handles to fail. The poor-quality OEM rubber is not suited to the wear / varying temperatures that this part experiences.
The part is prone to melting in the summer and hardening in the colder months. Inevitably the part starts to deteriorate- leaving sticky residue on your hands when pressing the button or wearing away completely, it is common for the center section to be missing completely.
This button also provides a sealing function; failure of the part can cause issues with water ingress in to the handle.
Previously this necessitated replacement of the entire door handle; not only is this expensive and very time consuming to fit it would also ultimately fail again.

Our solution can be installed in situ, fitting in the same way as the original; instantly improving the look of the handle and restoring the sealing function.
Step 1: Remove the Remaining Pieces of the Old Button
The remnants of the old button can sometimes be removed just pulling it out. Often, a Stanley blade, small flat head screwdriver or long nose pliers may be needed to remove the old rubber from within the groove.
Step 2: Remove Any Glue Residue
Once the old rubber has been removed, the groove should be cleaned out to remove any glue residue. This can be done with a small flat headed screwdriver or a Stanley blade.
Step 3: Mask the Area
Before gluing and fitting the new button, the area surrounding the gap should be covered using masking tape to avoid any excess glue being transferred onto the handles paintwork.
Step 4: Apply the Glue
The glue should be inserted in the groove that you cleaned out in the previous stage.
Step 5: Offer Up and Insert the New Button
Offer up the button to the handle to make sure the orientation is correct. If you are happy, proceed to place the button edges into the groove and then push down so that the button pushes into the glue and sticks firmly in place.
