Introduction: Merida From Brave Halloween Costume
Ever since the movie "Brave" came out, I knew I wanted to be Merida for Halloween. I sewed a simple dress based on a tunic that I already had. I used a cotton blend jersey fabric so I wouldn't have to hem it and I wouldn't have to have any seams on the front, since the green dress she wears in the movie doesn't have any seams. I sewed two tubes for each arm, and connected them with 4 smaller strips of fabric. I wore a white under-dress that I borrowed from my college's costume closet, a belt I already had and I made a bow out of cardboard and yarn.
I was part of a group (including Selkeymoonbeam) who were all Disney Princesses. We entered a contest at our school and won!
