Intro: Meta Bracelet

Meta - short for metamorphosis - was designed in Rhino 3D with the aid its plug-in's T-Splines and Grasshopper. The definition essentially allocates material based on the density of cells to make it stronger in areas of greater permeability on a two dimensional plane. Once the desired pattern is a selected it is then projected onto an ellipsoidal surface. The pattern is then used to split the surface and separate positive from negative which is then offset as a solid. The surface geometry is then extracted of its wireframe and used to generate the smooth continuous surface via T-Splines. The model was then converted from a Rhino file to an STL format and printed on an Objet 3D Printer.

The design is equally analogue and parametric. The pattern was generated off a grasshopper definition in 2D but the driving surface was modeled in the regular Rhino environment. The definition helps to ensure that the ratio of density to amature thickness is intact as its various iterations are studied.Once the pattern was fit to this surface the process is entirely analogue in t-splines, drawing and modifying curve geometry until it satisfied the t-splines constraints to generate the final closed polysurface.
I'm pretty sure that I'm following you on all of this, but it would be awesome to expand on what you've said. Each sentence in your description can be a full step in a step-by-step instructable.
The design looks pretty cool, but was this project actually modeled, or was it generated by plugins? From what I knwo about grasshopper, you don't actually build the surfaces/objects from scratch. It looks a lot like stuff I have seen online elsewhere.
*sigh*
Either go into more detail explaining all the steps of how you MADE it, or stop spamming us.
