About: I am a teacher who enjoys environmentally responsible woodworking. Most evenings will find me in the shop working with my now 8 year old son Shay who is both my greatest helper and biggest fan.

Broken file cabinet comes in for a common and simple fix anyone can do. 

It is common for the slides on the drawers to break loose at the spot welds on overloaded metal file cabinets.  That doesn't mean they are trash, in fact the fix is easy.

One tip:  Drill just to the sides of the old spot welds, not in them.

    Hi! This was great actually. And I also have a different problem with an old metal file cabinet. A drawer handle is hanging by one screw, and we can't figure out how to pop off the interior plate to replace the screw. Any help really appreciated.
