Steel Sheet Metal Flower

Intro: Steel Sheet Metal Flower

This is a simple metal rose or some type of flower that I made with some spare sheet metal. Took a while to make but that was mainly due to the fact that I only had a small tin snips and I had to cut each petal and leaf by hand... Also it takes some practice to bend each petal to shape and you have to wait for it to cool down each time after you weld (got a few burns by rushing). What i found easiest was to make it partially symmetrical as you can tell, and to first weld the first petals on bend them to shape and then do the next set of petals. In the pictures it is not complete as I still need to grind down and polish the welds with a dremel.
All of the petals are hand shaped and cut. Most of the petals I guessed for their size when I was cutting and the shape should be a cone with a rounded top. Ill create an instructable on it soon.
The only tools I used were:
Small tin snips
MIG welder
Needle nose pliers
Dremel

This is really nice. I am trying to make a rose out of Stainless Steel. I have a few questions, what size is your stem ? That will do for a start. Looking forward to your instructable.

The finished product is very attractive. I look forward to your instructable. Do you have any suggestions for burnishing or polishing out the toolmarks?
