Introduction: Metal Working Forge
well I built a forge this is what I got for ya
Step 1: Materials
you need 20 feet of /14 inch angle ,1/8 inch plate one dodge rotor,and one inch 36 inch black pipe one inch 18 inch black pipe and a one one inch steal T-pipe and 4 3/4 bolts and washers.
Step 2: Tools
your gunna need a welder, grinder, drill, tape measure, dc grinder, belt sander, paint pen or soap stone, and 3/4 socket and wrench, hole saw.
Step 3: How to Start Building
cut the plate 2ft by 19 5/8 and cutagle pieces the same lenght and weld it toegther to make a table them cut 3ft legs to make a table.
Step 4:
then grab the dodge rotor and center it then cut a whole then grab left over angle then make a holder
Step 5: Finishing
weld the 18 inch pipe to a circular plate then drill hole and bolt it to the roter then drill a whole for the air to come through then weld it all tougher.
Step 6: Now U Have Your Finished Product
it can also be used as a grill

Looks good , but deeper is better , as you want to put your iron into the fire horizontally . Go ahead and build a pile of coke/coal over your firepot . Just mash the sides in and top down for a hot and compact fire , use water to control the size of the fire and to make coke as you work . & check out abana.org .
