Introduction: Microwave S'mores

About: Hello and Welcome to In the Kitchen With Matt. I am your host Matt Taylor. My goal for the show is to teach you how to cook really good food at home for cheap. Eating out everyday can get expensive, but it doe…

In this Instructable, I am going to show you how to make S'mores in the microwave. Traditionally you would make smores outside over the open fire while camping, but you don't have to wait until you go camping to enjoy this delicious treat. You can easily make yummy smores at home. Homemade S'mores are a simple treat consisting of marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers. They are so easy to make, if I can do it, you can do it. Let's get started!

Don't forget to follow me and check out my other Instructables. :)

Follow the simple steps below or watch the short video tutorial or do both. :)

Step 1: Ingredients and Tools

You can print the recipe here if you want.

Ingredients:

  • Marshmallows
  • Graham crackers
  • Chocolate

Tools:

  • Microwave
  • Plate

Step 2: Assemble the S'mores

Begin by placing down the graham crackers onto a microwave-safe plate. Then place a bit of chocolate on top of the graham cracker, followed by a marshmallow. Some stores, at least here in the US, actually carry square marshmallows, specifically for S'mores. Pretty neat.

Step 3: Microwave Them

Now put the plate in the microwave and set the time to 30 to 40 seconds. Watch as the marshmallows puff way up. The time will depend on the watts of your microwave. My microwave is 1200 watts.

This method also melts the chocolate too. If you don't want the chocolate melted wait to add the chocolate.

Step 4: Finish!

Now remove them from the microwave and place another graham cracker on top, pushing down a bit. At this point, if you didn't add the chocolate before you would add that as well. I love it when the chocolate is a bit melted too. Time to enjoy those tasty treats!

As a kid, my favorite part was watching the marshmallow expand in the microwave, haha. Or when camping, catching it on fire and then blowing it out.

Step 5: Video Tutorial

Now watch those steps in action with this short video tutorial.
