Introduction: Microwave Vanilla Sponge Cake With Chocolate Ganache Frosting
This is a great cake that I just love to make and eat. :D. I made it on new year's eve the second time and everybody loved it!!
Step 1: Ingredients
For the cake: 100g(1/2 cup) sugar 100g(1/2 cup) butter 2 eggs 100g(1 cup) all purpose flour 1tsp baking powder 1tbsp vanilla essence 3tbsp milk For the chocolate ganache: 3/4 cup of chopped/grated chocolate(any kind - I used milk chocolate) ( or u can use chocolate chips) 3/4 cup of cream Decoration: Sprinkles(optional)
Step 2: Make the Ganache
Heat 3/4c of cream in the microwave. Just HEATED not BOILING. Then pour the cream over the grated chocolate. Wait 1 min. for the chocolate to melt (if it's chocolate chips you have to wait 2 mins.). Then just mix the cream with the chocolate using a whisk. Put it in the fridge for an hour or two to thicken.
Step 3: Make the Batter
Mix the melted butter with the sugar. Now add the eggs one by one. Sift In the flour and the baking power and add the milk and vanilla essence. There you go! You have your cake batter.
Step 4: Cook It
Put the batter in a microwave-safe bowl and bake it in the microwave. Mine took 3:30 mins. in my 1000w oven. After cooking let it cool for five mins. then take it out of the bowl and let cool.
Step 5: Layer It N Frost It
Cut the cake in half carefully. Now take your chocolate ganache and put some of that on the lower slice. Spread it evenly. Put the other half on and start frosting the cake. First put the ganache on the top and gradually go to the sides adding as much ganache as you please until the cake is completely covered. (optional) decorate the cake with sprinkles (or m n m's or whipped cream or icing sugar or.....
Step 6: Enjoy!!!
Last but not the least, eat it up!! Hope you enjoyed the 'ible and will enjoy making it. I bet I do. I'd love to see a pic in the comments if you make it. Luv you all =) <3
